The decline of AFD and the rise of RSOC (Related Search on Content) have become focal points in the search arbitrage industry. Discussions in our arbitrage communities are heating up, with many advertisers inquiring about transitioning to AFS/RSOC models or expressing concerns over AFD’s volatility.

To help everyone better cope with changes in the industry, we’re breaking down RSOC’s mechanics, workflows, and strategies. This article will comprehensively answer core questions such as "what is the operating mechanism and process of RSOC?" and "how to obtain RSOC feed?", and provide you with a clear path to enter the market. Whether you’re new to the field or exploring new growth avenues, this guide will equip you with actionable insights to seize first-mover advantages.

How RSOC Arbitrage Works

RSOC (Related Search on Content) is a feature developed by Google to improve the user experience by embedding relevant search terms in web content. Extending to our arbitrage business, the core of RSOC arbitrage is to direct paid traffic to content pages that utilize RSOC feeds. Here’s the flow:

1. Users click on ads (e.g., via Facebook or TikTok) and land on your content site.

2. The page displays keyword modules related to the content.

3. Clicking these keywords redirects users to search results or monetized pages, generating revenue through the arbitrage gap.

RSOC Arbitrage Specific Workflow

1. Build a Content Hub.

Start by creating a content-driven website with high-quality articles to attract organic traffic and improve user dwell time. A credible site significantly boosts your chances of RSOC feed approval. Some providers even offer pre-built content sites.

2. Apply for an RSOC Feed.

You will need to apply for your own RSOC feed source. In most cases, you will choose to obtain it through two ways: one is to find Feed Providers who can provide RSOC Feeds, similar to how we initially applied for AFD Feeds from Feed Providers. The second is to apply for your own Google AFS account.

3. Drainage and monetization.

After obtaining the feed, we can introduce traffic to our own content website through various media platforms, such as Facebook, TikTok, and other native or social media paid ads, and then make customers redirect, thereby generating traffic price differences and realizing traffic monetization.

How to apply for the RSOC Feed

As mentioned above, the choices are basically limited to two general approaches.

The first is to apply for your own Google AFS account, which requires us to make sure that:

· Have your own content website, and the website has been added to AdSense for monetization operations and maintained for at least 6 months.

· And the content of the website complies with Google's search ads policies and has a search box integration scenario.

Of course, in addition to the application requirements clearly given by Google Adsense, many friends also feedback that the current actual application difficulty will be higher, in the current application volume is large and the quality of website data is uneven, Google will still review such as the company's background, potential, strength, website visits, website content quality or whether the applicant has historical arbitrage business experience and other aspects of information to comprehensively consider.

The other way is to apply through RSOC Feed Providers, which is similar to the way we applied for AFD Feed Providers in the early days, which is also the preferred method that we recommend most ordinary players, and it is less difficult and easier to achieve than applying for a Google AFS account.
